Here some fan comments and press releases :

From Debbie H.

Not to sound so sanctimonious, but I do want to thank yall for leaving out cursing and vulgar comments from your shows. I assume it's always that way as I've never heard anything offensive in the performances I've attended. It has become so commonplace with other bands that it is a refreshingly noticeable difference when it is absent. It may seem like a small thing but it has caused me to think twice about who I go see. I am usually with my daughter and while I don't like to hear that kind of banter myself, I especially don't feel good about subjecting her to it. For us, it detracts from the reason we are there which is to appreciate the music and the musicians' talent and there is certainly plenty of that in Leaf River Blues Band! Anyway! Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your music and talents without having to worry about being offended.
Great show at Shuckers last night! As usual! Love you guys!!

Cool article in the Hattiesburg Newspaper

The city of Hattiesburg has traditionally been regarded and well-known for its sophisticated musical opportunities and variety, and this reputation will only be greatly enhanced, as it prepares to welcome the lively and eclectic performances of the very innovative local group of the Leaf River Blues Band! Hailing originally from the magnolia state of Mississippi, this uniquely talented group of musicians have continued to bring their own individualities into performances, that are already in themselves authentic. Having recently emerged from the two local blues bands, Crossthread and the Coursey Street Blues Band, this group was first brought together and established in 2007. Bringing an original and infectious energy into each of their live performances, any kid or family member to witness the catchy and traditional sounds of blues that this group introduces, should in short be nothing much less than addicted! Made up of the artists and musicians of that of Ernie Moore (drummer, lead and background vocals); that of Jimmy Burge (bassist and baritone vocalist); Bobby Benison (acoustic slide, harmonica as well as acoustic guitar); of none other than Tom Penton(lead and background vocals, electric lead guitars), as well as Robbie the Mad Dutchman (master pianist and organ musician, not to mention sound, lights, and keys handyman) - this saavy group, through the contributed skills and talents of each individual and as a whole, introduce an innovative demonstration of rhythm and blues through an interesting and exciting fusion of both authentic "front porch" blues, with that of an original blend of twenty-first century sounds and magic! Experience musicianship that will be uniquely memorable, and do not miss the expected performances, Meet the Leaf River Blues Band: An eclectic musical experience in Hattiesburg like no other.
